The previous 26k already excluded large sections of the workforce that actually does the work in universities. Never mind the healthcare sector. But don't worry. Bankers can still migrate to the UK.

Somehow, immigrants working in low-paid jobs abuse the system. Glad that we don't talk about hedge fund managers ripping the heart out of businesses.

"It's not that complicated."

See, easy. You simply take some unemployed Brit and let him do the work I had trained for for more than 20 years.

This was btw exactly the answer I got from Brexit supporters in 2016. Seven years wasted with no progress whatsoever.

Unrepresentative survey regarding the new UK income thresholds for immigrants (£38k = $50k/€45k, up from £26k = $33k/€30k). What was your highest annual income in US$?

For comparison: £38k per year are equivalent to £730 per week - above both median and mean income.

It told British people that Brexit did not target EU migrants but British people. But what do I know?

@ToruOkada

During the dot com boom it was $95k per year. It was insane. Lasted 4 months.

That would be about $173k in today’s dollars.

That’s insane.

@ToruOkada I have honestly never in all of my 60+ years seen the country in the mess it's in now.

@homebird The word "crackdown" in this context is nauseating. Every immigrant a criminal.
