Multitask? I can't even task.
@TheCard Multitasking is where you do five things in the same amount of time it would take to do one thing, and you do all of them half-assed and distractedly.
My last job was at Lowe’s was in warranty & service, assis. For the first year and a half I was in this position it was calm and organized. Then in October 2019, corporate decided to have us handle warranty, service, customer service, AND sales.
We were given four days of training. My call load went from five customers at a time to almost 15. I walked off the job the first week of March.
@see_the_sus @AskTheDevil That sounds immensely stressful, and I think you made the right choice. What an exploitative situation.
No pay increase and our metric requirements stayed the same. There was no way to actually help the customers. We all tried talking to our bosses boss that we deserved a pay raise but were told, “Out of the 3 call centers, you all are already getting the highest pay.” 🤬 My response to them was, “We’re not demanding that we here, in Indiana, are the only ones deserving of more pay, we’re talking about all of us who do this job at all the centers!”
@AskTheDevil That’s a very apt observation! Great assessment of multitasking - and why I prefer to stick to one task at a time.
@TheCard I can do like all the things IDK.
