This is excellent. Reminds me of a lot of writing by William S. Burroughs who felt once language moved away from logographic and ideographic (pictorial) languages in the West (Chinese and its related asian languages are logographic), it became an element of reduced meanings and along with religion and other systems, about control qns repression.

As well as a novel called The Names by Don Delilo that traces how language lost its connection to the divine when ancient Sumerian was lost.
