The NY Times editorial makes some fair points, but for them to act like they've played no part in propping up, legitimizing, and providing encouragement to a psychopathic insurrectionist liar and that they're simply being practical and responsible now asking Biden to bow out strikes me as quite rich...hypocritical even.
Let them recognize their horrible failure here as the newspaper of record, and not just focus on Biden's difficult night.
I wish I could be optimistic that they will indeed recognize that.
They won't. They've played a dangerous game Tearing down Biden for clicks and with the idea that just because Biden's going up against a psychopathic liar they're not going to pull their punches on holding his presidency and Biden to account.
Fine, do that, but don't do it without simultaneously speaking blunt, naked, eviscerating truth to the fascist sociopath who incited a violent, lethal insurrection.
