As someone who got reeled into a soul-draining, mental health obliterating, romantic relationship not too long ago, most of these toxic behaviors strike me as being amazingly accurate. Especially the first one:

It takes time to spot these elements though. And sometimes they're things that need to be identified and can be worked out or corrected, but that takes time as well.
The hard part is giving that enough time before you become a prisoner to your own heart (and the other person)...

It makes me think of the song "Fools Rush in" which Elvis and Sinatra covered and Sinatra said this about it:
"The story of the song is in the first four lines: 'Fools rush in where wise men never go, but wise men never fall in love, so how are they to know?' But if you do it that way, nobody follows the story."
