I do find inspiration in his dedication though. Truly.
There's no shortage of sushi places in Tokyo, and many of them are relatively reasonable.
If I had the money to go to Sukiyabashi Jiro, I'd go to a half dozen different places instead.

Sushi got started as snack food for gamblers, the same way sandwiches did. "Tekka-maki" means "gambler's roll".
@mcfate Interesting! I love hearing about the origins of food from other countries. Rich roots. What else do you know about their food? I've never been there but the ramen shops look incredible.

Yes, that's been out a couple of years now. Jiro-san is pretty famous in Japan.
