@mcfate Have you seen Jiro Dreams of Sushi? Documentary that was on Netflix a bit ago, really interesting doc. The guy REALLY takes pride in his craft to levels I never thought possible.
Yes, that's been out a couple of years now. Jiro-san is pretty famous in Japan.
@mcfate He sure seemed to be, with how formal his servings are.
I wish wish WISH I could try his sushi.
Last I heard, his waiting list is about fifteen months long. Bring all of your wallets.
@mcfate I could never afford to.π
I do find inspiration in his dedication though. Truly.
There's no shortage of sushi places in Tokyo, and many of them are relatively reasonable.
If I had the money to go to Sukiyabashi Jiro, I'd go to a half dozen different places instead.
RULES, HE HAZ EM.
@mcfate Oh wow you're right. I could try my hardest to adhere to them and still end up offending.
I'm also insecure about how I use my chopsticks 'cause I dunno if I'm doing it "right"
ProTip: the proper way to eat sushi is to use your fingers.
@mcfate ... Man I'm learning all kinds of stuff today!
@mcfate True, I'm also really hungry so the food talk is right up my alley right now.
We get a lot of Japanese tourists here (normally) and they've always been super respectful.
@Tail
That's too open-ended a question, I spent a lot of time in Japan.
