Question : In the US, are women's shoe sizes the same as men's sizes?
Like, if the shoe says "US 12", would that size apply to both men and women?
Context : Trying to figure out if I bought myself women's shoes.
@Stevo They are not, usually, but sometimes shoes are unisex (Converses, for instance, use unisex sizing).
In the US, a men's size is typically wider than a woman's by one step and is about 1.5 sizes larger than the women's equivalent.
Put another way, a US 12 men's is the equivalent of a US 13.5 wide women's.
Of course, this is just a rule of thumb! It varies based on vendor, too.
EU sizes are typically unisex outside of width, however.
@lenaoflune I found these shoes in the men's section at an incredible price, love 'em and honestly couldn't care less if they end up being "women's shoes".

I don't think there's really any relevance of gender to shoes, to be honest. "Women's sizing" is really just a shortcut for "take 1.5 length and 1 width step off the size," which isn't even really appropriate for many women! This is why Torrid, for instance, sells double-wide (WW) shoes as their standard sizing.
