Ohio made an exemption in the distracted driving law for licensed ham to use their radios while on the road. This will be a tremendously unpopular opinion with the ham crowd, but a cell phone is not more distracting than mobile use of ham radio. Mobile ham radio is as unsafe for other drivers as a cell phone is.

@Mark15 People no longer make the effort to concentrate on the road. All it takes is for someone to have someone in the passenger seat and then you end up behind them and you can see the head constantly looking sideways while the car is constantly breaking when it shouldn't be or swerving. Simply put, it feels that most people don't give a shit about others on the road but themselves.
