I analyze the damage of Bullshit. The obvious damage is just the start, the rest is part of a larger cascade failure. stevensavage.com/blog/2024/06/

@StevenSavage I just read that out to some of my family, and someone asked "Do you need me to proofread that for you? Is that going on your blog?"

Nope. Just some other wise, heroic, and intelligent being who hates Bullshit with a capital H.

It was so cathartic reading that. Knowing that should I die, others remain carrying lanterns of their own.

@StevenSavage I would love it if dishonesty were treated the same as any weapon. You use it against an enemy, or you use it to save another from harm.

So ideally, it should be something only heard about in storybooks.

I think it's rubbish that society has trained us to believe that some enormous amount of malicious lying or bullshit is just normal or necessary. That it's just sort of supposed to be there. We've got a presidential candidate arguing they have a right to lie for a campaign.

@StevenSavage Everything is permitted. Nothing's stopping people from lying (yet, but when it is possible, be sure it'll get used on you, and not on the elites).

Untruth _can_ be a tool in nature. It is neither good nor evil in itself. But it's very caustic and dangerous, and it spreads and mutates.

I feel like dishonesty should be treated as virulent and contagious. A strategy to be employed rarely, and in constrained circumstances at best.

It lends itself to anti-life outcomes _readily_.
