My family was all about sarcasm and after I grew up I realized that it's just mean.
I remember sitting at my kitchen table with my mom and now 16, and 16 was like 5, and my mom teased him and he started crying and I said, "Don't do that to my kid," and my mom said, "It was JOKE! YOU HAVE TO HAVE A THICK SKIN TO BE IN THIS FAMILY," and I said, "Then we're done with this family."
@Shelter that’s just wrong under any circumstances, imho.family, of all people, should understand.
I’m not on the spectrum but I have synesthesia, which makes me a little quirky. When I was growing up my mom thought there was something wrong but in my mid twenties, I Room a battery of tests and I finally was able to explain. That was a relief but it didn’t help our relationship much. Anyway, because of that I’m sensitive to some of the social challenges in life.
@Museek
I finally got My mom to understand but although my kids loved her they didn't trust her
And that's what it's all about.
Trust.
@Shelter well good.. glad she was able to understand but yes… I can see how it’s be hard, esprit young children to trust an adult who was behaving aggressively.
@Shelter soon! I’m struggling with it tonight.
