Oy! I loved Carey Price, but I’m taking a hard pass on this and unfollowing him.
The CCDAF is a firearm org and they use the promo code: POLY which refers to the Polytechnique massacre in Montreal in 1989 where 14 women were killed by a man that was jealous women were allowed to take engineering courses.
This is a hard no from me.
Article about the photo, Polytechnique survivors speaking out against it and info on the CCDAF (in French):

Omg that code is disgusting.
@Camerondotca @Shelter @FPonTheDL A large reason I stopped shooting much is that I couldn't stand a lot of the people in the sport. I like going out to shoot clay pigeons with people who aren't nuts, but so many clubs have at least a token presence of complete kooks I can't stand.
@Camerondotca @Shelter @FPonTheDL and none of the shooting sports organizations in Canada seem like reasonable people. I've resented having to give any of them money to be able to go shoot for a long time. They've done themselves no favours in terms of building relationships or a reasonable discussion on how to better manage firearms and the law.
@NickTheSkydiver @Shelter @FPonTheDL yep. Instead of "the laws are fascistic" or "anyone who wants more laws is a fascist" they should 1) help folks deal with the laws as they are 2) get onboard with helping folks figure out reasonable balances..
@Camerondotca @Shelter @FPonTheDL I remember one of the orgs, I think the NFA which is far and away the nuttiest, adopted, "No compromise" as a motto, and then seemed confused as to why no one would listen to much less interact with them.
I'd argue we could keep most firearms legal for those who want them if we redirected energy to better licensing and trying to combat smuggling.
@NickTheSkydiver @Shelter @FPonTheDL those are the ones with the M4 on all their t-shits, yea?
@Camerondotca @Shelter @FPonTheDL for example Toronto Police has a Twitter feed of all the firearms they seize. The majority are compact and subcompact handguns which have never been legal in Canada and were never legally imported. Buying up a bunch of rifles for millions or billions of dollars won't do a thing about that.
@NickTheSkydiver @Shelter @FPonTheDL dad went to a commercial range and they had human shaped targets and firearms for rent that were horribly maintained and he just sort of backed out of there and never went back.
@NickTheSkydiver @Shelter @FPonTheDL some glocks where the slides rattled side to side.. crap like that.
@Camerondotca @Shelter @FPonTheDL Rental stuff isn't really maintained, because those places mostly cater to people who want a one-time experience.
@NickTheSkydiver @Shelter @FPonTheDL this here is largely how I feel as well (she’s awesome and on Spotify)
@Camerondotca @Shelter @FPonTheDL well had to chuckle at that for sure
@Shelter @FPonTheDL My Dad goes to a range with round targets with other folks who shoot at round targets. Once a year they go to a private range on a guy's farm and bring their bigger stuff, but none of his buddies are "I shoot at terrorist shaped targets and I preparing for the coming revolution.. get the woke" nutters. He cuts those people out of his life and none are welcome at the club he goes to. That divide is super important.
