Just throwing out there that when I was 13 after my dad had died when I was 11 and my grandmother who was my primary caregiver had a nearly instant dementia when I was 12 I went trick or treating and got turned away at every house and went home and cried.
All y'all giving candy to teens are doing great things.
Happy Halloween 🎃
@OldSilver
I forgot my mom got breast cancer when I was 12, and at 13 all I wanted was Halloween and trick or treating.
I'm so glad you do this.
It's so appreciated.
@Shelter always have, always will.
@catzmeow
Good.
🎆
@Shelter I'm so sorry that happened to you. I love that I now live in a neighborhood that never turns anyone away. Let kids enjoy being kids. ❤️
@Shelter sending love to you ❤️
@Shelter I love the teens. And I hope even the Halloween grinches remember that most of today’s teens missed at least a year of trick or treating due to the pandemic, and are owed a little bit of childhood back.
@Shelter I agree, if a kid wants to hang on to the "magic" of childhood for as long as possible I'm all in for that. I'm really so sorry that people were cruel to you, I feel that one as rich neighbors were that way to me when my dad had brain cancer and mom made costumes:(
@Shelter the teens are my favorite, tbh. They’re just so wholesome. I want them to know they’re appreciated
