With how hard Disney comes at sueing anyone that dares to use their intellectual properties (seriously they sued a preschool once because they used Mickey and pals on the wall of the school) I am still amazed they haven't sued Mel Brooks for Spaceballs posthumously.
@kel Idiots: (See also Ron DeSantis)
I am in no way defending or cheering on the soulless corporate juggernaut that is Disney, but I'm not gonna shed a tear on the political blood that is shed between the two of them either.
The Schwartz, is with neither of them.
@SentinelOfTruth π―
Parody is a fair use, Disney doesn't pursue cases it can't win.
@SentinelOfTruth Mel Brooks is still alive.
@SentinelOfTruth Mel (who is still among us) is pals with George Lucas and liked the homage and even helped hime lending some IL&M talent to make Spaceballs
@ordenauta I am aware, But Disney, really, really, REALLY doesn't suffer anything that uses even a smidgen of what they own; even if was something made 36 ago before they owned the rights to it.
Lucas may have a sense of humor, Mickey does not.
@SentinelOfTruth being a parody and all Spaceballs must fall under Fair Use doctrine
@SentinelOfTruth Their legal team is no joke.
No one fucks with Mickey.
Except idiots.
