Does anybody here know how to cook a roast?

I don't think I ever have. My grocery had a twofer deal, that essentially resulted in the meat costing $3.75/pound. So I have two roasts sitting in my fridge. I want to cook them both, then freeze most of it, packaged for future use.

BUT...I don't know how to cook it. I just know that my mother cooked it until it was dry as leather. Which is probably why I never bought and cooked it myself.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated!

@BlueStateBabe Crock pot, 6 hours, with beef bone broth, then shred the meat. Season with Cajun spice and copious amounts of ground pepper.
