I was frustrated a lot yesterday. Below is just one example.

An urgent meeting was called because things weren't getting done.

B: We need to provide details and not make any assumptions.

Me: Here are the details that were provided. What assumptions?

B: We need to prioritize tasks and communicate.

Me: They are listed in order of prirority sorted by priority in the priority column.

B: How were the hours calculated?

1/2

Me: I provided it a few different ways but also right here in bold at the top of the spreadsheet.

Crowd: How do we know they can do the work in that amount of time?

Me: Because I trained them, had them do it on their own and timed them. Documented here.

THIS WAS JUST ONE EXAMPLE.

Did I have a "bad day"? 🤔

Today will be better!

Sounds like you maybe had a teaching (or re-teaching) day. Sounds repetitive and annoying! But I tell you, if you are trying to teach people things, and yes that includes grown-ups in corporate America, you will repeat yourself more than you ever thought possible! Bah. 💜 ☕ ☕ ☕ <<<extra coffee

@janallmac I feel like I'm just way ahead of everyone else.

Maybe this is just being old.

@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN
Nah, people never pay any attention or read the things they're supposed to read. 🙄 Or remember things that you tell them explicitly.

Never is a strong word. But I swear, it's more common than you'd think.

@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN yeaaah, this sounds eerily similar to my husband’s WFH meetings. He’s in business analytics and I get annoyed FOR him (I mean, he gets plenty annoyed all by himself, too.)

@SECRET_ASIAN_MAN I feel like I just read a conversation with my old boss 🤔

Dude didnt read what he asked for, failed to listen to any ideas or feedback he requested and just went around making decisions like he knew what he was doing with absolutely no supporting information or data.

I feel for ya, our team also had a plan w/ data w/ timeframes and he always ignored it. (but would then ask for it AGAIN the next day  )
