The philistine war on AI art
Genius can appear in the silliest of places

"AI art will supervene, is already supervening, upon several different categories of human endeavour.

It is simply not a meaningful question to ask whether any AI output may appropriately be categorised as art. Art is artifice plus, one hopes, a hint of genius, or something close to that."

@corlin One person's genius is another person's monkey splatter. Art is an enigma, when done right, which means it has inherent meaning, but that meaning differs for different people. Good art focuses the mind on this enigma, but like all else these days, more voices means more noise, and the genius at work is overlooked. A noisy system is the foundation of successful AI, sadly. All IMHO.
