@RationalLeft Not so sure this photo is being read correctly. Take a look at Seth Abramson's analysis of what happened.
@elbutterfield It's frankly moot, because Trump's repeated demands and calls didn't move a single vote. Only internal moves in the caucus finally led to Kevin's feeble apotheosis. Trump's influence floundered.
@RationalLeft
Abramson maintains that the calls from T moved the holdouts to change their votes to "present".
@elbutterfield I see zero evidence for that, given that they'd spent days ignoring his demands and being unmoved by his direct phone calls.
It seems like post facto explanation to just mark the moment when they fell into line and say "THAT must be when Trump's influence came in!"
They fell into line because they got enough of what they wanted. If Trump's influence were strong they'd have obeyed him on Tuesday.
@elbutterfield "Over" is too strong and too simple. But it's clear his influence is not what it was. His cult wants him to deliver. He hasn't retaken the WH. He hasn't gotten election officials locked up. He hasn't done anything while 1/6 rioters go to jail.
There was outright fury when he finally announced something "big" - and it turned out to be "give me your money for pictures of me as a superhero!"
