With the money, I'd invest in my children's education and inheritance. The rest would go towards buying land, building an off-grid house with wind and solar power, and creating a food forest & hemp acreage. I'd rent part of the land for a cellular tower and buy surrounding property to establish a small village focused on environmental sustainability. I'd form a village council, hold monthly meetings, and allocate funds for residents' needs like education and medical care. 2/
@PaganMother This is the coolest idea!
@John_Ripley It's something I've dreamt about doing for years but had never the means to make possible. My limits at this time, are strictly financial.
@PaganMother As is most peoples.
@John_Ripley There's about 24 acres of land between where I live, and Traverse City that's selling for about $160k, I figure why not invest on the land, clear a portion of it for personal housing, and build further housing for others to move into? Just the purchase alone could yield such a good solid start for a town that isn't solely reliant on distant grid systems, but more localized with green energy and local businesses in primary focus.
@John_Ripley If I were to sit down and break down the funding costs in a hypothetical budget, just the housing alone would cost upwards to about 4 to 5million, leaving a huge amount still aside for further lot purchases for growth, funding towards local businesses, establishing the town state side/federally and so much more.
