A word of wisdom: Social Security is your money, paid in by taxes throughout your life time. What the government is doing with it, is borrowing against earnings from taxes over the decades, to whittle away what is and should be reserved only for the retiring elderly and disabled. #FYI
Should their whittling be stopped? Yes, by securing Social Security as a given, period, adjusting to living costs and inflation every year, not every three to ten like they have in decades past. But not only that, it should incur maturation fees FROM THE COUNTRY, not from the taxpayers pockets to better reflect the care we should be giving to our older citizens. #PersonalOpinion
Majority of the US citizens fully believe that our social security is another safety net, when it's not. It's a life time of earnings being returned to every citizen that qualifies for those returns. The misinformed belief that it's funded by the government needs to stop. #PersonalOpinion
@PaganMother except
uncle ronnie borrowed and never paid it back.
believe ghwb did too.
@annamousse Exactly the issue. It SHOULD be untouchable by the government, no matter which party is in office.
@PaganMother Don’t forget that Ronnie Raygun made SS distributions taxable. 😡@annamousse

@annamousse @jaunty And how. It's frustrating to see.
@PaganMother Exactly and those same misinformed are the ones who don't understand that migrants working under "stolen" social security numbers have put millions into this fund that they will never be able to claim as well as pay local state and federal taxes. It is the WORKERS money.
The biggest issue with this is the uninformed/uneducated politicians we have representing our nation that fully think that they should and can borrow against earnings that do not belong to them, to spread across the nations government budgeting, and this is wrong, so very very wrong. You don't steal from the pockets from grandpa, or grandma to pay for your bills, nor should you ever need to. That is where our biggest issue is at this point in time in the US within regards to our gov. budgeting.
