Got a new doctor at the clinic I'm assigned to for my primary care. Nice lady, quick thinking too. Soon as I caught her up on 3 years of no care or treatment, and informed her about the therapist I"m working with downstate, she's digging for contacts and info on her end to find trans-friendly coleagues so I can find access to care that I currently DON'T have in my part of MI. (I'd have to travel 6 hrs south to the closest specialists.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL5yJTtwEik #CoSoMusic Woodkid - Run boy Run! 1/
Admittedly, I'm scared but I'm more excited than I am scared because I don't have to hide myself anymore. I don't to pretend to being a gender that doesn't fit me and hasn't fit me most of my life. I can finally just let down the hair, sit back, and just breathe, knowing that I won't have to go back into the closet, or trying to mask for the rest of my life. I might not live a longer life, but I'll be happy, and to me, that counts far more than surviving until the end of my days does.
@artildawn I appreciate that, truly, thank you. It's the one thing I think all of us deserve to have, just to feel at home in the self we identify as.
@PaganMother
May you have the best of everything on this journey. Holding you in the light.
@Megalicious Thank you, I'll keep this blessing close to heart. <3
@PaganMother
This is everything. I'm thrilled for you.
I work on the admin side of LGBTQ+ care and may be able to help find affirming specialists if your doc isn't able to.
@Iresine Thank you, thank you, yes that might be a possibility. I live in a pretty rural part of NE Michigan. It's nuts how far apart affirming care specialists are in this state.
@PaganMother I'm happy to ask around if needed.
@Iresine I'm in the Wexford county area, I know there's a possibility I may have to take a trip south to reach this goal, but it's one I've held off on for more than 20 years.
@PaganMother Aloha. Don't know you, but I'm still happy for you. Hope we as a society can make more progress along these lines so the more people well feel free to embrace their true selves.
