Does anyone know what a "grain" of allspice is? I'm trying to make a recipe from Poland and it calls for "2 grains of allspice".
I have used allspice before but never ran across a measurement like this.

The polish mushrooms are pretty expensive and this is the 1st time I'm making "The Soup" my family always made for xmas eve.
There's no one left to present the question to...I've received all good answers.
Maybe I'll reach out to the blogger that came up with this recipe.

@coolserenity as a unit of weight it is equal to 0.065 grams so for that recipe 0.13 grams - but I suspect the person who gave you the recipe I strongly suspect he meant two allspice seeds.

In apothecary measures, a grain is 65 grams (a 325 mg aspirin tablet is often labeled as "5 grains"). Seems a weird way to measure allspice, though, and it would be a pretty massive amount for most recipes.
I'd vote they mean two allspice berries.
