One of my students, aged 17, wrote, arranged, and played this LIVE on synths.. yes, I was a teacher of synth and recording production here and witness him do this WITHOUT DAW in the school studio. Amazing.

This was at a magnet school for the arts, called Fort Hayes, in Columbus, Ohio.

@JazzCrafter Back in 1974, I was at Simon Fraser University and was tasked with creating digital music on an EMS VSC-3 for a dance production by students of Phyllis Lamhut- It was terrifying :)

@NorthernInvader ohBOY, do I have stories.. I actually did graduate school studies at Capital University in 1974, one of the first of it's kind. I got into electronic music very early, after hearing Walter(now Wendy)Carlos. Fort Hayes had an actual RECORDING studio in the classroom, and I had students do their first productions there.

@JazzCrafter It was a bit of a horror story for me but I had to do it to pass the class. It was an experiment from start to finish as there was no one, or any material, to give me instruction on how to do anything more than turn it on. Did not get a great grade but I passed. I'm not in anyway a musician 🤣

@NorthernInvader
I applaud you for exploring the unknown. I can see how it would be overwhelming.. I was and am.. a pro musician and it is still daunting to this day! These students, though, were really something special!
