#politics In my mind, Biden's stance on Israel is wrong-headed and compromised. It's also the biggest threat to his reelection. He's losing his base voters because no one wants to support what Israel is doing to the Palestnians. Sanders hits the nail on the head when he talks about the priorities involved. https://www.commondreams.org/news/sanders-gaza-trump
@GlennS
No, he isn't
@Idissent isn't what?
@GlennS
Losing his base voters. We're not going to vote for trump. This is just silly. Yes, we're all struggling with this but seriously what's the alternative?
@NorCalCherylLyn @Idissent i agree that they're giving up. That's the problem, people who fall for the false equivalence. Biden needs to take a stand against Netanyahu both because it's the right thing to do and because not doing so is hurting his chances in November
@GlennS @Idissent I see him pushing Netanyahu, I see the whole admin pushing back. They’re building docks to bring relief to Gaza, dropping food and water. I agree this is the right thing to do but I also believe that Palestinians are Hamas…Hamas is Palestine. Very, very, few are not. This opinion is formed from speaking to Muslim American friends from Dearborn and their parents who immigrated in the 70s.
Netanyahu NEEDS to go for sure. But so does Hamas and its terrorists.
@GlennS @Idissent IMO keeping Hamas alive because the alternative will maybe be worse was Netanyahu’s biggest error.
None of the area’s Muslim States accepts Israel existence. They are being attacked from all sides on a daily basis…what are they supposed to do? What would we do?
Hamas was killing Palestinians much more than Israel before the murderous 10/7 attack.
The whole thing is horrific and we need to put as much pressure on all sides to stop as we can.

@NorCalCherylLyn @Idissent Nett kept Hamas in place b/c he needed an enemy. If there was a reasonable Palestinian alternative, he couldn't carry on with his apartheid state.
