hey all. grandson brought home a propane grill/hotplate yesterday, ehich meant i didn't have to cook over the firepit. yay. i cooked hashbrowns with green onions and eggs this am. yum. the grill was a gift from his workplace. they were asking everyone what they needed. it's a new coleman and i'm grateful.
@Lindy hang in there hun, help is on the way from everywhere, they are coming through Ashville first, but there are a bunch of private hellies out there too. If you need help, hang a white sheet up as high as you can get it. So they can see you from air.
@vo1de we are safe, and i believe we would be ok even should the dam break (at least, I hope so). I'm worried about some of the lower areas around here, though. I'm glad to hear about the private efforts! Our church is giving out food tomorrow...delivering it where necessary.
@Lindy I'm so glad you're safe and that the local churches are helping. I'm on the wrong damn mountain on the other side of the country rn. Just getting word out to the rest of the world. I'm glad you and your family is safe. π
@vo1de thank you.
@Lindy are you wanting to stay? Are your routes washed out? Got radio?
@Lindy don't stay if you can get out hun. Please be safe. There are still live wires, and roads washed out everywhere. Don't touch the water. If you have onstar or roaming on the phone you should be able to connect to someone local that can tell you how to safely get out.
@vo1de I'm in the piedmont area, about an hour + from Asheville, not really in the mountains. We built at the top of our land which is pretty high up. We'll be staying here.
@vo1de north leads to impassable roads, as does west and south, east leads to the coast, where we do not want to be. so...
@Lindy yeah I get it. I know those mountains. Do you have ham? I'll see if I can find a route out of there for you. How many? Animals? Livestock?
@vo1de Don't. I don't have ham, i don't want to leave. Thanks for your concern.
@Lindy ok. I understand. If there is anything you need I'll do what I can to get the word out. And if you change your mind there are a bunch of offroads out.. Don't know which ones are passible rn. But it's worth a try. Or if you know anyone else who wants to leave. I-26 is open, they are working on 40 rn.
