The leaves I've been getting here in Newport don't seem to last half as long as the ones I get in Washington.
I can't figure it. The dates are good, but still they are wilted and slimy.
It's a major component of my dinners most night. 50 grams of salad greens, though that's only like 8 calories so it's not really a loss to cut them. Still I like my salads.
The psychological aspect of food is interesting to me. 50 grams of salad greens seems more like a meal than just Tofu and Carrots alone.
@gemswinc That's a neat idea. I will endeavor to try this.
@NiveusLepus I kinda ball up the towel, not flat out
@gemswinc Just damp I take it, not dripping.
@NiveusLepus Yes
I was inspired by @Oma_Trisha to "up" my sprouts game and move into microgreens. Like you, I've had some trouble with salad greens going bad early.
Here is my new crop of microgreens, seed from Nalo and Long Life from SproutPeople in the closeup and buckwheat lettuce, Nalo and Long Life in the big container, and my volunteer wood sorrel in my moss bowl.
Harvest day for the buckwheat.
Perhaps microgreens might help with your salad greens problem?
@NiveusLepus Keep them in a open plasric bag/ with a wet paper towel ? Works for me, I do salad daily too
