@NiveusLepus
Hi Rebecca... Have a question...
After seeing your post yesterday I looked for the first book... Dawnbreak...
But only grabbed the sample because I'm not sure how my Kindle Unlimited that I have for my daughter mostly, pays three authors?
I finally found the Buy Now buttons for the first 3... But then wondered how much of that would you get?
Is there a way to give you your due better than through the Amazon system?
Thanks...
Enjoy the day...
@InvaderGzim @NiveusLepus Speaking as a fellow author here, I'd offer a couple suggestions here. First of all, buying on Amazon/Kindle improves her books' rankings on the algorithm. Likewise, posting a review boosts them as well. I'm not sure how her stuff is priced but for standard Amazon stuff, we get either 30% or 70% of the sell price, less a nebulous "delivery cost." 1/2
@ianthealy @InvaderGzim I get 30% of my paperback sales and 70% of my digital sales.
On a good year I clear a few hundred dollars that way.
@NiveusLepus @ianthealy @InvaderGzim Yes, this is about the same annual amount ratio I get for Architects of Vascularization’s book 1. Also self-publishing.❤️✍️❤️
@JGSchaeffer @ianthealy @InvaderGzim I'm actually doing better as an Indie than I was doing traditionally published. After 3 years I finally made it out on my own in 2017 and founded Studio Prey.
Covid knocked the heck out of my team in 2020, but I'm hoping to be back to publishing my next installment in the Farthest Star Series by years end.
@ianthealy @JGSchaeffer @InvaderGzim Studio Prey is on life support, but it is alive! I have to get to releasing again.
@NiveusLepus @JGSchaeffer @InvaderGzim After two decades of this insanity, I can confirm that releasing new material is the best marketing you can do.
