This pretty much describes something that I'm still struggling with. A long distance partner basically dipped on me completely out of the blue, no responses to any messages, no notice, de nada. I've moved on, still hurting because I see him still active, talking to everyone else, everyone but me. @PaganMother I had a partner and we had a very good and stable relationship, I thought but she just kind of drifted out of my life. We were very different from politics on down, and when her husband began to become much more radical about things, that seemed to be the end. I haven't heard or seen her in almost a decade now.
@NiveusLepus *nods.* I'd been with this fella for about three years, we kept touch on discord and in city of heroes since we both played on the same server and loved roleplaying together. But he is also an amazon distribution manager several states away from me, so his time was absolutely eaten up by his job majority of the time. This isn't the first time he's gone radio silent on me, even in game, but it's certainly the last. If he can't even say hello, what even is the point?
@PaganMother It is not a wrong thing to guard your own heart. You can love someone and they can still be in a position where they can not reciprocate that love in a way that maintains a relationship.
Imperfect world, imperfect people. It's a hard thing to accept though.
