So very sad to hear about the passing of Sinead O’Connor. Incredible voice. She was absolutely destroyed for calling out the church on their sexual abuse many years before it came out everywhere. I hope she is at peace now and with her beloved son.

This passing hits me hard. I grew up listening to her and she was one of the first CDs I bought when CDs started to be sold.

R.I.P.

@NewYorkJellybean well, shit. I hadn’t heard. It’s an end to her suffering, I guess, and she did suffer some awful things.

@MookyTroubadour Indeed she did. After I watched the documentary on her, there was newfound respect. She went through a lot but I feel despite those awful things and her mental illness, she turned out to be an amazing person. She could very easily have ended up the complete opposite or even dead at a much younger age.

@NewYorkJellybean The Catholic Church brutally retaliated against her

RIP Sinead.

@VelvetDuchess I remember watching that SNL episode and not really understanding why she did what she did. Years later I was like “Oh! I see…”. It wasn’t until then I realized what had happened between her being so popular to never really hearing anything from her again. I didn’t know until her documentary last year that she actually put out 10 total albums. I had missed out on everything. 😢
