Question, CoSo:
I have been selected for the fourth time in ten years to Jury duty. I don't mind doing my civic duty.
But.
I am in the middle of my physical Therapy journey. I am two weeks away from getting my MRI and Jury duty will hurt my efforts.
My Physical Therapist is writing me a letter and printing out my schedules for the next two weeks..
Will this work? I am so damn close to getting my knee fixed.....
@MrsE0113 a note from your doctor could hold more weight for a medical exemption, if you can get one in your jurisdiction.

It would in my state.
I say ask for a medical deferment. I have been on many juries, and only once ask for an excuse, recovering from surgery, it was granted. No big deal.

Tell them the guy is guilty and they won't select you. Get your knee fixed.

In my experience, it should be no problem. You'll be excused. However, you may need a note from your MD.
It's routine to request a medical deferral. Just tell your doctor what your juror number is, where the letter gets faxed, and what your reason is. They probably have their computer set up to print the letter from a template.
If it's a temporary reason, the court will throw your name back in the barrel for another time. As long as you don't completely ignore them, they are chill.

Generally the court does not want jurors who are distracted. Take care of yourself- you may be called again.

@MrsE0113 I'm a full-time caregiver for my wife who suffered a stroke two years ago. My doctor has written two letters requesting I be excused from jury duty for 12 months. It worked both times.
