My co-worker, who happens to be black, asked me how I managed to get the “black” holiday off.
I write the schedule and I have to work 6 days this week.
@MrsBentoBako Tell him it's the same reason everyone gets July 4 off even though they weren't part of the actual signing of the declaration. Maybe your co worker needs to grasp the notion of "national holidays".

Third, my coworker is BLACK and it literally had nothing to do with race.
@MrsBentoBako People without nexus to a holiday still get the day off, that's my point. I'm too serious? You're upset that I used the wrong gender label which for the purposes of that post was generic. PS My post had nothing to do with "black or white", go reread it; you added the race element.
