To think our home is gonna end up in a scrap yard because of a mistake that could be corrected monetarily but refused is wild..... im really struggling to absorb this #randomthoughts
@MrGoat I think this is a good time for name and shame.
@MrGoat Country Aire Mobile Home Park?
And it is the landlord of that park that is trying to have you thrown out and your home destroyed? Is that Mr. Li?
I've missed parts of this story.
I don't think you're going to get a lot of coverage here alone. Can folks spread the word to other fora?
So far, I'm finding disconnected phone numbers - they seem to go through listing companies that obfuscate their contact info. Classy.
I'm wondering if there's local tax offices or officials we can call.
@MrGoat Anyone from Illinois who has any insight on laws regarding who has the responsibility of reporting and paying taxes on mobile home lots? I see:
"According to Illinois mobile home park laws, the park owner must give tenants information, in writing, about:
The exact amount of rent charged for the mobile home or lot during the last 5 years, including information regarding fees imposed over and above the base rent, late payments, and applicable taxes"
And a bunch of other stuff.
@AskTheDevil They say they won't take the case they sent a letter and said it's not in their interest.
@AskTheDevil ikr
@MrGoat The next thing I'd look at is any attorneys that take cases like this on spec. If there's someone involved who can be made liable, there should be an attorney. It's finding one in time.
@AskTheDevil yea - been trying and no dice yet
@AskTheDevil it's like nobody gives a shit for real =/
@MrGoat Not in their interest. Nice, since that's not whose interest they're supposed to be acting in. >:(
Funny, he has the same surname as my crappy landlord, although it's a super-common name, like Smith, or Ngyuen. It would be lovely if their name was Snorkotz or something easy to find.
