Aaaand just like that, I have to be the Tooth Fairy tonight. 🧚‍♀️ That's the last of my emergency tooth fairy fives in the desk drawer.

@MotherDucker fives - wow we only used to get a $0.25 back in the 50s 🤣

@MotherDucker too late for you now, but in our house the tooth fairy didn't leave money. they left fairy gifts: quartz points, beads, pressed glass moon faces, tumbled stones, pieces of mica...

@redenigma what a cool tooth fairy vibe! The tooth fairy of my youth brought $2.00 bills and silver dollars.

@MotherDucker i got dimes & quarters, but it was the 60s.... ;) i just figured that because we live rural, kiddo had no place to spend money, & money isn't really that important to 6 year olds anyway, and kids that age like imagination stuff, so... the fairy trades pretty things they have found on their travels for teeth

@redenigma @MotherDucker

My kid gets a lot of money from the grandparents and uses it to buy things she wants at the store (she also buys gifts for me and dad 🩷) and to do extra stuff at the playplace. That place is such a ripoff lol. $5 for 3 minutes on a plastic 3 seater tiny carousel 🙃

I love your idea! My kid already thinks the tooth fairy brings money from the other kids at school. You didn't run into the same problem?

@MotherDucker

One year, back when I was traveling all the time, Cosmic Jr lost two teeth and dutifully put them under the pillow (in an envelope where he wrote Two Teef and drew two teeth in case it wasn't clear).

We realized we didn't have any cash other than Canadian loonies I'd brought back, so into the envelope they went.

Cosmic Jr. told his friends all about how the American tooth fairy was on vacation and the Canadian tooth fairy had stepped in.

I kept the envelope. 🧚‍♀️

@MotherDucker

Did you have to do the pull out thing? We're at that point...with a shark tooth nonetheless (bottom, thankfully), and I'm sooooo skeeved about that part 😬

@ExecutiveFunction404 It came out in an Everything Bagel. Some seeds got stuck up in so I told her, "Do you think you can take it out?" Light tug, the deed was done. And this was the first time the bloody bit of the tooth didn't freak her out.

@MotherDucker

Nice! I got the heebie jeebies just reading your story hahaha. I don't know why I'm so weirded out by it. Maybe it's the blood? I don't like looking at blood until I know the extent of the wound, which is kind of oxymoronic 😂

@MotherDucker

We did it today. And it looks like another shark tooth is coming in next to it, but that tooth isn't loose yet. I didn't notice until I just looked at the picture. Too busy with the leftover hole...and blood.

Pic covered bc I assume some people don't want to see a tooth hole 🤷‍♀️

@ExecutiveFunction404 It’s go time, tooth fairy!! Poor kiddo those shark teeth are rough but at least the baby teeth are coming out. My eldest niece (13) had to have 8 baby teeth extracted over the summer because they weren’t coming out. That was something 🙀

Makes me feel less awkward that my kiddo lost hers early.

@MotherDucker

We lost the tooth...it went flying 😂

Let's hope the top is good 🤞 She'll likely need braces anyway, bc she has my small mouth with crowded teeth (I also needed an expander; it's def a medieval torture device & confirms my 'dentists are sadists' belief 😂). Thankfully the bottom ones push forward on their own.

Wow...13 & still had baby teeth? Did the adult teeth grow in yet? When I was reading about shark teeth, I read something about having to pull down the adult teeth!
