You know, the band Journey was REALLY good before that nasally pop Steve Perry guy showed up. The album “Next” from 1977 is more of a prog rock/fusion kind of vibe and makes me wish they’d kept on that track.
@InUnfunky no- I’m not saying Perry is to blame. If there’s a blame to be applied, it’s to Columbia records who wanted to move units.
I’m merely saying that his arrival coincided with a change of direction I find really sad.
Well, that and he sings through his nose. The MAGA-fication and abundant litigiousness are also unfortunate, but what can you do?
Hey @InUnfunky don’t stop believing’. 🤣
Now tell me about how good Angel was before they went commercial. 😜

Hey CP —
I’ll be alright without you…there’ll be someone else, I keep telling myself…
Kidding!!! 😁
Also —
Everyone here who knows me knows I HAD NO IDEA WHO OR WHAT “Angel” WAS until I was fortunate enough to hear a certain tune…
“…the pooched-out succulence of his insolent pouting rictus…”
@InUnfunky @MookyTroubadour @JoyfullyDazed @Mfieck @Bix
I could at Guantanamo Bay with electrodes attached for enhanced interrogation and couldn’t name a single Angel song. ⚡️
@CanisPundit @MookyTroubadour @JoyfullyDazed @Mfieck @Bix
I heard Punky’s as fluid as Jeff Beck, though…
@InUnfunky @MookyTroubadour @JoyfullyDazed @Mfieck @Bix
Well, now.
@MookyTroubadour
Now ya got me looking at their discography so there’s that…😂
Prairie Prince, demo drummer…
Aynsley D, then post-Zappa…
Perry and Rolie, co-singing (with Perry join)
Fleischman? Who? Vinnie Vincent?
And Steve Smith was in Montrose???!
Yes, we know Cain was in the Babys. Ugh.
Well, now I’ve brushed up on my Journey history thank you very much. 😉😱😂
Be good to yourselves! 😝
