I am not sure.
These are naturalized, planted 90-100 years ago. They are about half the size of the hybrids bought today and are yellow only.

Nothing ever is. The plant genetics might be the only way.
@MelissaHDavis Good question. I do not know which variety they may be. Are there features one could use to discern ?
