At the end of January, I always pay tribute to the NASA astronauts lost in Apollo 1, Challenger, and Columbia.
I remember them all.

Specialist Greg Jarvis of the Challenger Crew was from Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo, CA; lived in Hermosa Beach. There's a memorial to him & the crew on the Strand @ 14th St. Lovely place for a rest.
I was a temp at HAC when the shuttle went down that day - it was surreal inside the plant; a top secret facility w/ a news blackout but phones ringing off the wall w/ calls from outside telling us the news.
