When I worked the Wolf Sanctuary in CO, we carried every deceased wolf to each 1/2 acre enclosure/pack to say their goodbyes.

They would all sniff the body and then begin howling. One by one, until it was a cacophony.

Feeling their grief made the loss even more devastating.
