Ugh today is a sad day 😔 My oldest son, who's 11, told me last night he wishes I didn't transition and that things could go back to normal.
Also found out that my daughter, who is 6, was embarrassed by me at a school event I brought her and the boys to 😔

On this #Transgender Day of Remembrance
Stop and think before you make that "tranny" joke. Stop and think before you point and stare. Stop and think before uttering that rude comment to a friend. These are people just trying to fit their square peg in society's round hole. They are human like you and deserve the common courtesy of a kind word or a smile. Their life could have very tough times that can be eased with kindness. And maybe, just maybe, that smile could save a life.

#Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR)
350 trans and gender diverse people were reported murdered between 1 October 2023 and 30 September 2024
94% of the reported murders were femicides, i.e the victims were trans women or transfeminine people.
93% of the reported murders were of Black or Brown trans people, a 14% increase from last year
Cases in the United States increased (2024: 41; 2023: 31).

While #Transgender Day of Remembrance is officially about those we've lost through direct violence, I choose to expand it.
We lose many more Trans people (and other groups) to indirect violence - suicide. Those who choose this option aren't doing so because the world is all sunshine and flowers. Their world and hope has been whittled away until they see no other option but to sleep forever.
Forced micro-dosing of hate & violence can kill you as easily as an asshole with a gun.

I fought for treatment and respect for members of my community that were dying from a deadly virus while republicans laughed, the US president dismissed us, and religious leaders condemned us.
I'm witnessing my #transgender siblings demonized, demoralized, and targeted by a party obsessed with genitalia.
America just reelected a rapist and down ballot candidates who target minorities.
I'm tired.
I'm angry.
I'm stressed.
Don't fucking tell me to take a moment to breathe.

Even though I live in a blue state I am absolutely terrified for the future of trans people. We will lose access to our meds, our doctors, be forced to revert our ids, and many other basic human rights will be stripped from us.
I'm trying so hard to keep it together for myself as well as the many other trans people in the world. I am going to fight until I die, I just hope that's when I'm 94, not 44!
I am so sad and numb from waking up to the election results.
Not only will my rights as a trans woman be taken away, but my 6 year old daughters future rights will be taken away as well.
I know we now need to fight even harder than we did before, but today is not that day. Today I mourn and cry, today I ask myself how hate, misogyny, transphobia, and racism won.
To all the marginalized groups out there, please try to stay as safe as you can!!!!

As a trans woman, this week is one of the most stressful weeks of my life. I'll either be somewhat safe in America, or hated and hunted in America 😑 If this sounds like I'm being dramatic, I promise you I'm not!
