Currently reading FEVER IN THE HEARTLAND by Timothy Egan, all about how the KKK came damn close to taking over the USA in the Thirties.
Damn if this isn't playing out similarly now.
@Madken65 @grrlscientist I believe Rachel Maddow wrote a book about that too but the Nazis were also involved. The parallels to 1930s/40s Germany and USA today are frightening 😳
