Unsure how many watched the Men's game last evening, but I gotta tell you, as a former point guard, I would have loved to be able to push off my defender the way the refs allowed Zach Edey (Slowfoot) to push off the UCONN defenders repeatedly during the game.

@Jennifelroy Jen, your comments?

@Jennifelroy

At my tallest, I was 5'5...what else could I be but a Point Guard?

@Madken65 I honestly didn't notice Edey getting special treatment, but I did think it was a very physical game, the refs let them play without a lot of whistles.

Andrew Hurley has played in 12 NCAA tournament games and has 2 National Championships under his belt. That's a Stat and half in my opinion. I love this team so much.

@Jennifelroy @Madken65

Hate to do it but I agree with Madken. Especially at the end when Karaban had to guard him.

@MountainMan @Madken65 I mean, I get what you're saying, but basketball is a physical sport, and with great big guys like Edey (and Clingan) bumping up against a littler guy can look worse than it is.

@Jennifelroy @Madken65

I played for years. Obviously not at UConn level, so I know how physical it can get. Edey was obviously and intentionally dropping the shoulder to push Karaban out of the way.

@Jennifelroy @Madken65

As a quick side note, I actually played summer league basketball against Chris Smith when I was 18. A teammate and I took turns trying to guard him. We “held” him to 30 points. He was averaging almost 50 that summer.

@Jennifelroy @MountainMan

Jen, I was really meaning against equals...if a guard was on the outside, he wouldn't be allowed to push into his defender like that.

I just thought there was too much of Zach trying to 'bull' his way to the basket rather than play basketball. Might also have been the result of his frustration with how Clingan and Johnson were handling him.
