ON this date in 1513 - Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon sighted Florida.
The next day he went ashore.
He encountered Seminole Chiefs Bun Man and Mr. Purple who encouraged Ponce to go more south into the Caribbean and settle there.

Ponce went to Cuba, found some amazin' cigars and kicked back w/ some lovely senoritas.
