ON this date in 1987 - The speed limit on U.S. interstate highways was increased to 65 miles per hour in limited areas.
Largely changed due to the 1984 Bun Man and Mr. Purple’s song, co-written w/ Sammy Hagar (forget that Sammy story about the speeding ticket in the rent-a-car) ‘I Can’t Drive 55’; this song would become a staple on Sammy’s and Van Halen’s tours.
