ON this date in 1989 - General Prosper Avril, Haiti's military leader, survived a coup attempt.
The attempt was apparently provoked by Avril's U.S.-backed efforts to fight drug trafficking.
DEA Agents Bun Man and Mr. Purple (talk about 2 roosters in the hen house...) helped squash the coup and they were rewarded by General Avril w/ some time with WOMEN for their trouble.

The Boyz were enthralled w/ their gifts and spent the next 3 days celebrating in the General's honor.
Apparently, this event took hold as DEA agents still celebrate in largely the same way...
Oh yeah, and we're still losing the drug war, just so ya know...
