ON this date in 1972 - The Los Angeles Lakers broke a National Basketball Association (NBA) record by winning 69 of their 82 games.

Assistant Coaches Bun Man and Mr. Purple encouraged the team to win more, but Wilt Chamberlain was on the team and given Wilt's prowess w/ the ladies, he felt 69 was a good number.

It just worked for him...

The Boyz took their championship rings that year and moved on.
