Through pop culture, it sometimes seems like it’s common for there to be a wide age difference between spouses. How common are the age gaps, really? These are the age differences through the lens of the 2022 five-year American Community Survey.

@Madken65 one thing most people don't consider too deeply is that people with age gaps larger than about 7 years have very little popular culture in common. the music they listened to, movies they saw, books they read were probably quite different. unless that have something very much in common, like a hobby, (or wealth holding one partner in chains) marriages with greater age gaps tend not to last
