ON this date in 2006 - In Texas, U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and wounded a companion during a quail hunt.
US Senators Bun Man and Mr. Purple, also on the hunt, quickly left the grounds as they were the only Dems present and they worried Cheney's shot was no accident.
Not surprisingly, Cheney continued to support no gun control; he said later "What do you mean, I can only shoot quail who are birds, I was shooting at Dan Quail."
