ON this date in 2004 - Janet Jackson's breast is exposed during the half-time show of Super Bowl XXXVIII, resulting in US broadcasters adopting a stronger adherence to FCC censorship guidelines.
Costume designers Bun Man and Mr. Purple were immediately blamed for the incident.
Apparently, the authorities thought The Boyz had intentionally made the outfit so it could be exposed.

Bun Man told the NFL Chief Investigator "I hope you're not tryin' to make this an 'InflateGate' thingie; someone had to pull that cord for this to happen..."
As the Chief Investigator turned to Mr. Purple, P immediately countered "Hey, dude, I'm just here so I don't get fined..."
