ON this date in 1941 - Brigadier General Soervell directed Architect G. Edwin Bergstrom to have basic plans and architectural perspectives for an office building that could house 40,000 War Department employees on his desk by the following Monday morning.

The building became known as the Pentagon.

Worked there for 10 years after 9/11, ably assisted by couriers Bun Man and Mr. Purple, this was my finest hour as a professional...Made me a much better house cleaner and dishwasher in retirement!

@Madken65 Mom worked there for 20 years, as a secretary first then later as a computer specialist...I was there many times as a kid...and later I returned...as an office furniture installer 🤣
