New owners Bun Man and Mr. Purple of the Chicago Blitz lobbied Congress hard for the tax-exempt status enjoyed by the NFL, but to no avail.

Ultimately the USFL folded over the weight of its' collective financial pressures.
Bun Man said "Once again, monopolies rule America, not the people..."
Mr. Purple vowed then to fight on w/ his campaign...
