the mangos
that were fresh
from the farm
and which
you were probably
thinking
were perfect
Forgive me
they were
but also
so stringy--
fibrous tendrils
of deliciousness
everywhere
everywhere!

My friend just told me the secret is to bite across the fibers, not with them. Still gonna need some.floss tho.

I do not often have fruit these days, so I was ILL-PREPARED for this delicious venture into the ripest, sweetest mangos possible, but I regret nothing.

Another friend has pineapple mangoes just coming to ripening. I grabbed one a week ago and they're not ready yet. Unfortunately I just left the island this morning and arrived in Colorado an hour ago. So I won't get to taste them.
